RAMADHAN IS COMING, LDK JOGJA HELD ‘PAWAI RAMADHAN’

There’re just a few days left before Ramadhan begins. To welcome this moment, Pawai Ramadhan was held by FSLDK (Forum Silaturahim Lembaga Dakwah Kampus) Jogja, LDK Jogja, and Rohis Jogja, on Sunday, May 14, 2015. Running a longmarch from Masjid Syuhada to KM nol, dozens of students in a white outfit took part in this parade. On the way, the ammunitions were given away to the people along the street. The ammunitions were prepared by each LDK. It contains of foodstuffs, clothings, and stickers.
Arriving at KM nol, the event started by a deep greet to the people passing the road, and then reciting ayat Quran by representation of partisipants.
The extreme sun exposure wouldn’t hold them back. They came to KM nol high spirited and echoing takbir. They came to KM nol and invite people to brighten up the upcoming Ramadhan. “Kami di sini untuk mengingatkan karena sejatinya kita ditugaskan untuk saling mengingatkan”, said one of the orators.
It was also filled with theatrical which told you the bridled of Syaithan in Ramadhan. Furthermore, fundraising for Palestine was also done in this gathering. Inviting people to share a little hand for our brothers and sisters in Palestine must be helpful for them, right? Especially because Ramadhan will approach us soon.
Finally, this action was closed by the declaration of FSLDK that composed in three points:
- A demand for the government of Jogja to close immoral places (at least) during Ramadhan
- Condemn human rights violations against muslim Rohingya
- Condemn Israeli oppression of Palestine
“The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.”
[Quran Surah Al Baqarah 185]
